Just a few miles south of downtown Denver, Historic Downtown Littleton has a charm all its own, from turn-of-the-century buildings and antique shops to cozy, relaxed eateries, restaurants and bars. Browse Main Street's independently owned shops and galleries featuring local artists. Step into the past at the Littleton Museum with its 19th-century farm, or experience community theater and music at the Town Hall Arts Center.
The Wild West is still alive in Golden, Colorado's territorial capital until 1867. Upon arriving in Golden, you are welcomed with an old-fashioned wooden arch over Washington Street reading: "Howdy Folks! Welcome to Golden!" Today, it's home to six museums; Coors Brewery , one of the largest brewing facilities in the world; and a downtown filled with shops and restaurants. The famed Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre is just up the road. Golden is also home to unique museums and cultural attractions. If you're looking for outdoor adventure, Golden is also home to miles of hiking trails for all levels, some stellar rock climbing and Clear Creek, which runs through the center of town and offers whitewater rafting and excellent fishing. Denver is an outdoor city with a vibrant, walkable downtown offering urban adventures for all ages. Within a one-mile radius, you can kayak on the Platte River; explore some of the city's best museums; shop at art galleries and boutiques; see a Broadway touring show; enjoy live music; ride a rollercoaster or cool off in a water park; and experience exciting professional sports. Experience Denver's top chef-driven restaurants and innovative craft breweries. The Denver Beer Trail is a great guide to sampling those local brews. Downtown's free 16th Street Mall shuttle makes it easy to get around. Visit Larimer Square and the renovated Denver Union Station in historic Lower Downtown (LoDo), where Victorian buildings now house restaurants, galleries, shops, bars, brewpubs and coffee houses, or head to Denver Pavilions where you'll find shops, restaurants, bars and a movie theater. Discover the downtown area, and don't miss the chance for a photo with everyone's favorite Blue Bear public art sculpture at the Colorado Convention Center.
Colfax Avenue is the longest commercial street in the U.S.A. after first appearing on Denver maps in 1868 as a dirt road and then becoming a bustling trolley route in The Mile High City in the 1890s. Playboy once referred to Colfax as "the longest, wickedest street in America." Today, the street is lined with an eclectic mix of eateries, bars, brewpubs and shops, as well as entertainment and live music venues like the Ogden and the Bluebird theaters. These iconic performance spaces have hosted artists from across the country including Bob Dylan, Michael Franti, Snoop Dogg, Lorde, the Trey Anastasio Band, and local bands like Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats. The street's diversity is best seen by exploring on foot, starting at the State Capitol and heading east to Upper Colfax and East Colfax.
Belmar is a vibrant reinvention of downtown Lakewood that evokes the ambiance of an old town village center. The district is based around a central plaza, ringed with cafes, that hosts concerts during the summer months and transforms into an ice skating rink during the winter. From there, Belmar spans 22 square city blocks, with restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops, a movie theater, a bowling alley and clothing and specialty stores. Near Belmar is the Lakewood Cultural Center that features a 320-seat theater and rotating visual art exhibits in multiple gallery spaces. Create, connect and celebrate at 40 West Arts, a creative district along West Colfax. The surrounding city of Lakewood offers excellent access to the outdoors, including Bear Creek Lake Park and championship golf courses like Fox Hollow Golf Course and Homestead Golf Course. The Lakewood Heritage Center is the home to indoor and outdoor exhibits, exploring the city's history, culture and natural wonders.
The city of Arvada, located just northwest of Denver, offers visitors a small-town feel. Much of the community's charm stems from the turn-of-the-century Main Street Americana ambiance of Olde Town Arvada, with its numerous restaurants, bars, breweries, galleries and shops. After the discovery of gold, the town grew as railroad and trolley lines from Denver were built and agriculture thrived. Arvada boasts 90 parks within city limits and festivals and farmers' markets nearly every weekend. One of the city's most notable attraction is the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, housing spaces for theatrical and musical productions and visual art.
With 46 miles of urban trails, the Central Park, Lowry and Northfield neighborhoods are a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The neighborhood is home to many parks and open spaces, including Central Park, a haven for dogs, joggers, cyclists and rollerbladers. Biking and hiking paths connect the area to the 17,000-acre Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, where city gives way to prairie. It's not unusual to spot golden eagles soaring in the skies above and bison wandering the wilderness. Central Park's skate park, community pools, gardens and parks also beckon outdoor lovers. After enjoying the outdoors, relax and take advantage of the shopping and dining at The Shops at Northfield Stapleton, Stanley Marketplace or Hangar 2.
Federal Boulevard offers a taste of everything from hand-crafted beers and modern Italian cuisine to the best authentic Asian and Mexican eateries. All along Federal Boulevard are bright murals adjacent to specialty shops, as well as antique and vintage signs that line the historic and diverse area. If you're the type who likes to track down the most authentic, off-the-radar restaurants in any given city, then you'll want to head to South Federal, where unpretentious eateries are local favorites. Asian markets and Vietnamese restaurants abound in Little Saigon, between Mississippi and Alameda avenues, as do Mexican restaurants and shops in the Barnum area (named after circus mogul P.T. Barnum).
South Broadway has always been a major transportation corridor for Denver, even from its early days as a rough road used for hauling produce into the city. Today, South Broadway and the Baker neighborhood offer an eclectic mix of neighborhood taverns, vintage clothing stores, unique eateries, bookstores, art galleries, international restaurants, craft shops, an arthouse movie theater and hip live music venues. South of Alameda Street, Broadway becomes "Antique Row," a bargain hunter's dream with an amazing collection of nearly 100 antique stores packed into just 18 blocks. Whether you are looking for something to do or something to buy, there's a good chance you'll find it on South Broadway.
In the Golden Triangle Creative District, don't miss Denver Art Museum, Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art and the Clyfford Still Museum. With galleries, fine-art studios, museums, specialty stores, restaurants, nightclubs, coffeehouses and bistros, the neighborhood is a great place to explore on foot.
The Art District on Santa Fe is one of Colorado's designated Creative Districts, with more than 30 art galleries, studios and innovative businesses. The neighborhood's traditionally Hispanic roots are evident around every corner, from colorful murals and the exhibitions at Museo de las Americas to the Latino influence on the neighborhood's restaurants. The district features some of the most authentic Mexican culture in the city. It's also home to craft breweries and the Buckhorn Exchange, Denver's oldest dining establishment. First Friday Art Walks and Third Friday Collector's Previews attract both locals and visitors each month throughout the year. Art lovers can meet and mingle with artists and gallery owners while discovering contemporary, traditional and emerging art in unique and creative spaces.
Cherry Hills Village is a largely Residential Area that sits in the middle of Hampton, Clarkson, Belleview and Happy Canyon, Located south of Denver, the neighborhood offers a great retreat from one’s daily life. Cherry Hills has two golf courses with the Glenmore Country Club and the Cherry Hills Country Club, with the latter having housed 2 PGA championship rounds in its history. There are also a plethora of parks, lakes, and rivers in the neighborhood, which offers a great way for residents to enjoy the Colorado weather. Because Cherry Hills is a residential neighborhood, there are some great schools in the area like Kent Denver and Cherry Hills Elementary, making the area a great place to start raising a family.
Hilltop is a family oriented neighborhood located in between Quebec, 6th, Colorado, and Alameda. There are many schools and educational facilities in the area, which is perfect for raising a family. There are also three large parks in the form of Crammer Park, Robinson Park, and Crestmore Park that are easily accessible for families looking to take advantage of the Colorado weather. The neighborhood was also one of the first in Denver to consider cars, making parking easier than in other areas. The area got its name from the fact that it was located above most other areas of the city. This especially helped the neighborhood grow, as residents moved to the area looking to get away for the pollution of a growing Denver. Thus, as the City Beautiful movement began to form, the area was a perfect candidate to start with.
Washington Park is a focal point of the Denver area located in between University and Downing. Sitting in a largely residential area, the park is a popular place for residents to enjoy the outdoors with tennis courts, a large meadow for lawn sports, and general enjoyment of the outdoors. The park has ample space for all residents and visitors to enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather and each other. When residents are not making use of the Park, they can be seen eating on Gaylord street with its variety of bars and restaurants. They can also be seen shopping just a few minutes away in the Cherry Creek Mall. Originally designed by Reinhard Schuetze in 1908, the park has stayed true to its roots with Russian willows and other life throughout upkeep projects around the Mt. Vernon Garden and City Ditch. The area was popular during its founding as the first suburb of Denver for the same reason it is today, for the proximity to the park and all of the benefits that come with it.
RiNo is arguably the most hip spot in Denver and certainly a great place to enjoy life. The art that fills the galleries is constantly changing, and the food that accompanies the area is the best in Denver. The River North Art District "where art is made" goes by the nickname of "RiNo" and has even adopted a rhino design for its official logo, so look for creative rhinos in art and signage all around the neighborhood! The district's interesting blend of urban charm and unique industrial revival makes it a great destination for visitors. Historic warehouses and factories now house jazz bars, restaurants, brewpubs, art galleries and working studios. RiNo boasts a diverse mix of creative businesses ranging from visual artists, designers and furniture makers, to craft distillers and brewers, winemakers, creators of unique outdoor gear and small-batch coffee roasters. The art definitely extends beyond gallery walls in this neighborhood, with its colorful and innovative street art murals in alleys and on buildings around almost every corner!
Sunnyside is a neighborhood of Denver located between Federal Boulevard, 38th Ave, Interstate 70 and the Union Pacific Railways. This neighborhood is perfect for starting a family while still being close to the city. No house is more than half a mile away from a park, making it easy for families to get outdoors. There are also lots of family friendly restaurants around the town, including the Bacon Social House, a restaurant focused on bacon and Sunny’s, a local breakfast diner that offers both the classics and more healthier options. For those looking to get out of the house, Mile High Comics is America’s largest comic shop on the east border of the neighborhood and is a great place to enjoy an afternoon. Sunnyside first popped up in 1858 around the smelting industry, with jobs also being provided by the railroad companies. However, as the smelting company burnt down in 1913, the area saw an influx of Hispanic immigrants into the area, which is still seen in the culture today.
Uptown, otherwise known as North Capitol Hill, is the cultural center of Denver. Located between Colfax, Broadway, 20th and Park, the area hosts many performing arts venues like the Ogden Theatre and Fillmore Auditorium. After the show ends, patrons can go and enjoy one of the many bars and restaurants in the neighborhood. The area is a hot spot for younger residents to enjoy themselves after work. The land uptown sits on land originally owned by a carpenter from Ohio named Henry Brown who moved to Denver with the Homestead Act, acquiring 160 acres of land. He then donated the 10 acres that become part of capitol hill and sold what is now Uptown for 40,000 dollars.
East 7th Avenue Historic District is the largest in Denver with its boundaries stretching from Logan Street to Colorado Avenue, and from 6th Avenue to 8th Avenue. Despite being two blocks wide, the neighborhood is important due to the historical significance of certain homes. Dwight Eisenhower married his wife in the Doud-Eisenhower house, and the Governor's mansion was built in the area. Several other prominent members of the community also built mansions in the area with money made from investments in mining. This history is still seen today, with many of the original homes being maintained with theorigional style to this day. The style of this neighborhood is unlike any under, maintaining the historical charm the area is known for
Located between Broadway, Downing Street, Colfax Avenue and Seventh Avenue, Capitol Hill offers very unique perspectives of the city for its residents. The capitol building is located on the west side of the neighborhood, the gold topped dome overlooks Civic Center Park. Other activities like the Molly Brown Museum and Colorado History center give a deeper insight as to the history of Colorado and the local area. After the sun goes down, one can enjoy a bite to eat in one of the many bars and local eateries in the neighborhood, which can be found in every nook and corner of the area. The area has only been growing since the turn of the century, with multi-family housing and apartments facilitating this growth. The area was originally the home of the elite during the gold and silver rush of the later half of the 19th century, but with the economic panic of 1893, the area transitioned to a middle class neighborhood until just After World War Two, when the middle class residents left. The area saw a resurgence due to low rents, lending itself to musicians and artists looking for cheaper rent, which led to a revitalization of the area.
Five points is a very important historical area of Denver that has a special place in Denver history. Located between 20th, Park, Downing, 38th, and the South Platte River, the neighborhood serves as a cultural center of the city. In the 1920’s to the 1950’s, the Welton Corridor served as a vital part of the community where nationally recognized musicians like Duke Ellington and Miles Davis performed when they were in town. The area also is culturally diverse, having a majority Black population for most of the 20th century. Five points continues to have the cultural impact today as it did 50 years ago. Designated as a Cultural Historic District due to its importance to Black history in 2002, the area houses the Black America West Museum, which highlights Black history in Colorado. The area also offers a great selection of soul food and theaters, which perform hip-hop and indie acts.
The Cory-Merrill neighborhood is located just off of I-25 between University Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard extending to Mississippi Avenue. Named after two schools in the area, the neighborhood is family-oriented and perfect for city living with a family. There are a vast assortment of schools in the area for any buyer to choose from. Housing, originally built to house veterans after World War Two, provides a nice contrast to new highrises being built today. Residents can enjoy shopping along the easternside of the neighborhood on Colorado Boulevard. Tidbit Originally founded as a dry county in 1858 as a moral ground in contrast to Denver’s saloons, one can find a vast multitude of churches in the area. Even today the church is the largest landowner in the area, with highlights such as the Archdiocese of Denver, which controls the entirety of the Catholic church in the northern half of Colorado
The City Park neighborhood gets its namesake from the park that takes up over half of the area’s landmass. Located in between Colfax, Colorado, 23rd, and York, the neighborhood offers a great way to live an outdoor lifestyle in an urban setting. The park offers plenty of space to enjoy any activity that requires grass. Located in the park is the Denver Zoo, which gives a unique opportunity to look at life from all around the world. There is also the Museum of Nature and Science, which features both permanent and temporary exhibits for all ages. When residents and visitors aren't enjoying the park and all of its attractions, they can be seen enjoying the many restaurants that line Colfax. These include a variety of choices from breakfast diners to pizza parlors, making the street a great place to find a bite to eat.
Baker is one of the best areas in Denver for those looking to get the most out of life. Located in between the South Platte River, 6th Avenue, Broadway and Mississippi. The area features a large number of bars and restaurants that ensure one cannot have the same meal twice in the same week. These restaurants are largely on broadway, but there are also restaurants buried deep in every corner of the area. There is also Dailey park located in the middle of the neighborhood, which is a great place for residents to enjoy themselves when they are not on Broadway. The area is named after James Baker, who among other roles, was the principal of East High School. His presence brough much needed change to the school which led to an increase in attendance. After his role as principal, he served as the President of The University of Colorado until 1914.
Berkeley is a neighborhood in Denver located between 38th, 46th, I-70, and Federal Boulevard. The main highlight of the Area are the two massive lakes taking up about a quarter of the neighborhood’s landmass. The lakes and surrounding green space provide ample space for one to enjoy the great outdoors of Colorado. The family oriented neighborhood also features a wide array of restaurants on Tennyson St for any eater. The street has also been approved for 2.5 million dollars of funding, which will only help the area grow. Recently the neighborhood has made an effort to continue its history of celebrating the arts and culture. The Oriental Theater is always a great way to view local and national products, and the neighborhood has an event which showcases local artists on the first friday of every month. This commitment to culture is truly what makes Berkeley special.
Crestmoor is a neighborhood consisting exclusively of single family homes located in between Holly, Alameda, Monaco, and 6th. The main highlight of the neighborhood is Crestmore Park, which covers approximately a quarter of the neighborhood. This park is a great way to get outside and enjoy time with either yourself or others. There is also easy access to the local schools and scenic walks in the neighborhood. Crestmoor features some of the best schools in Denver, including but not limited to Carson, Steck, Temple Emanuel, Graland Country Day and Hill. This makes the area a great place to raise kids while still living in an urban area, an opportunity that no other area offers around Denver.

We recently worked with Patti in our move to Denver from the Bay Area. I got her contact info from friends who had worked with her on their relocation and they loved Patti. A couple hours after I emailed Patti, she called me back and was so warm and welcoming - we just knew she was the right fit for us. If you've seen Patti's website, you know how polished she is and how impressive her listings are. I was nervous that our first home search was just a drop in the bucket of Patti's workload - but she was so invested in our journey - we always felt like we were her only client. She kept saying it was nothing, but Patti did so much work to prepare for our 3-day market visit that we were able to see about 30 homes! She had printouts and mapped our journey and I felt totally comfortable in the backseat (a big deal for me since I'm usually the planner and I'm a control freak!) During our journey she was the perfect partner for us, calming our anxiety about the big decisions by reminding us that she wouldn't let us do anything that she wouldn't let her own kids do. Ultimate momma bear. Patti is really engaging and personable and we got to know her really well in just three days, which was a really great foundation for the next 6 weeks of our hunt, which we did from California. She took us on virtual home tours and guided us through multiple bidding wars. She was always confident we'd find our home but was also down in the trenches with us when things didn't go our way.
